“What I find jarring is that there’s so many people willing to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said, that they agree with that, that they’re willing to have monuments for him, that they want to create a day to honour him, and that they want to produce resolutions in the house of Congress honoring his life and legacy,” the politician said on CNN during an interview with Kaitlan Collins.
Omar did not apologize for previous statements in which she referred to Kirk as “Dr. Frankenstein” and that he was killed by “his monster (that) shot him through the neck.”
Mickelson responded to Omar’s latest Kirk statement with deportation dreams.
“Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and will hopefully be sent back to Somalia soon,” the LIV Tour golfer wrote on X.

Mickelson was responding to a video of the “Squad” member defending bombastic comments she made about Charlie Kirk last week, referring to him as “Dr. Frankenstein” who “was killed by his monster.”
Omar doubled down on her thoughts about Kirk and any tributes paid to the late conservative activist’s legacy.
“I am not going to sit here and be judged for not wanting to honour any legacy this man has left behind, that should be in the dustbin of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget the hate that he spewed every day,” she added.

Omar continued: “There are a lot of people who are out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate. There is nothing more effed up than to completely pretend that his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”
Her comments sparked outrage, prompting her to write on X: “While I disagreed with Charlie Kirk vehemently about his rhetoric, my heart breaks for his wife and children.”

She added: “I don’t wish violence on anyone. My faith teaches me the power of peace, empathy, and compassion. Right-wing accounts trying to spin a false story when I condemned his murder multiple times is fitting for their agenda to villainize the left to hide from the fact that Donald Trump gins up hate on a daily basis.”
Meanwhile, Mickelson has been showing his support for Kirk following the Sept 10 assassination in Utah with commemorative posts and celebrating his life and legacy.
The golfer noted on X that he believed the killing was bringing out “some of the best in humanity and it’s also exposing some of the worst.”
