Toronto Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man wanted in a stabbing Thursday night.

Around 9 p.m., police say two victims and the suspect, who are known to each other, were in a residence in the Torresdale Ave. and Robert Hicks Dr. area when a verbal fight led to one person being physically assaulted.

When the second victim tried to intervene, it’s alleged they were stabbed by the suspect, who fled before police arrived.
A female sustained non-life-threatening injuries and a male received serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the “believe this was an isolated event and there is no concern for public safety.”
Nicholas Benjamin, 30, of Toronto, is wanted for assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.
He is described as 5-feet-8 with a medium build and black hair.

COPS LOOK TO ID ASSAULT SUSPECT
An image has been released in the hunt for a man wanted in a winter assault downtown.
Toronto Police say on Feb. 10 around 2:50 p.m., a victim and a man got into an argument in the Carlton and Yonge Sts. area. The man then allegedly assaulted the victim and fled. The victim — whose age and gender were not released — was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
The wanted man is described as 28 to 32 years old, 6-feet and about 200 pounds.

OVERNIGHT SHOOTING PROBED
Toronto Police say a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting early Friday.

Cops say the incident occurred in the Port Union and Lawson Rds. area around 12:35 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man shot and he was taken to hospital.
There is no suspect description as cops continue to investigate.
OPIOID WARNING IN WAKE OF DEATHS
Toronto Police want the public to be aware of suspected overdoses that appear to be caused by opioid ingestion.
On Monday, police responded to a call for an overdose in the Eglinton Ave. W. and Dufferin St. area found a person dead from a suspected opioid overdose.
On Tuesday, police responded to a call for an OD in the same area of the city and found a second person had died from a suspected opioid overdose.
Police are concerned that there may be more people who have been sold or given these opioid drugs.

If anyone suffers serious illness after consuming a narcotic, they should attend a hospital emergency room, call 91, or go to a walk-in clinic immediately for treatment.

MAIL THIEF SOUGHT
Toronto Police are on the hunt for a mail thief.
On Aug. 20 around 6:30 p.m., police say a suspect forced entry into several mailboxes located in the lobby of an apartment building in the Victoria Park and Sloane Aves. area and stole a quantity of mail.
When a passerby confronted the thief, the man fled the scene.
The suspect is described as 18-22 years old and 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black sweatpants, a dark baseball hat, and black running shoes with white trim.
