The 40-year-old, whose birth name is Jason DeFord, recently revealed he has shaved off his beard for the first time in a decade.

The Son of a Sinner hitmaker shared an Instagram video on Thursday to show off his new look, saying that he originally kept his beard because of his weight.
Now, he jokingly said, he feels like a “Ninja Turtle.”

Reaction to the removal of the Tennessean getting rid of his signature scruff was generally positive.
‘Looking slim’
“Jelly looking slim,” wrote one commentor on social-media platform X, while another commentor said he looks “so handsome!”
Yet another commentor said Jelly Roll, whose face is covered in tattoos, should consider removing the face ink next.
The singer’s wife, Bunnie Xo, had revealed on Instagram one week earlier that the Save Me singer shaved off his facial hair in honour of a shoot he recently participated in.

“Because now that he’s so skinny — look at that freaking jawline — we wanna see that jawline, right, ladies?” she joked in her post.
In the caption of the post, she said Jelly Roll would reveal the final transformation “when he’s ready.” However, she piqued fans’ curiosity as she filmed herself reacting to her hubby shaving down his scruff into a “goatee” and a “cop stache” before going completely beardless.
“I have never seen this man without his facial hair. Not one freaking time,” she said.
Significant weight loss achieved ‘naturally’
Jelly Roll kickstarted his weight-loss transformation in 2022 by changing his lifestyle to prioritize exercise and making healthier food choices.
He has dropped nearly 200 pounds from his previous weight of 550 pounds.

“It’s cool because there was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour was the opposite,” the Grammy nominee said, per people.com. “It revolved around alcohol and drugs. And now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day.”
Jelly Roll also touched on his decision to stray from Ozempic, the GLP-1 that many celebrities have used to shed pounds.
“I just was afraid of it …” he said, mentioning his fear of possibly suffering from acid reflux, a side effect of the medication. “So I want to be very clear that I’ve done it naturally, but it wasn’t out of stubbornness or trying to prove a point. If it helps you, go get it. But for me, I was just petrified of the side effects of it.”
