Apple Music reveals ‘APT.’ top song, Drake most popular

Apple Music is the latest streaming app to publish its yearly recap of the most popular songs and artists of 2025.

While APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars was the most popular song this year, Toronto rapper Drake topped the Apple charts as the most popular artist, the music streaming service said Tuesday.

In addition, fellow Torontonian The Weeknd had the most R&B streams while Taylor Swift led the pop charts, Billie Eilish was tops in the alternative category, and Morgan Wallen dominated among country listeners. Wallen’s album I’m The Problemearned the most listens.

Apple Music Replay was also made available to subscribers — similar to yearly review shared by Spotify — which gives listeners a highlight reel of their stats over the past 12 months, reviewing which songs, albums, artists, playlists, genres and stations were most popular for each individual.

Its digital player has more than 100 million songs available to stream and the ability for users to download their favourite tracks to listen offline. There are curated lists and new music personalized for listeners’ tastes as well.

Over at YouTube, APT. topped all Canadian viewers while Die With a Smile by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga finished second. Four songs from the KPop Demon Hunters Cast made the list while The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s Timeless was ranked 10th.

The top tracks on the site were based on songs that debuted in 2025 or saw significant year-over-year growth.

Meanwhile, Spotify teased on Tuesday that its year-end list will be made available very soon after posting on social media asking users if they are “#SpotifyWrapped ready” and reminding them to update the app.
