Cops are investigating a homicide in Brampton after a male victim was gunned down on Monday night.

Peel Regional Police posted on social media that the shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the Hurontario St.-Bartley Bull Pkwy. area of the city.

Cops said shots were fired into a vehicle and a male victim had been pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Peel Regional Paramedic Services said paramedics were called to the scene and that the deceased male was the lone person injured in the shooting.
Police said residents should expect a “heavy” presence in the area and drivers should avoid the area or find alternate routes if possible.
Police have not released a description of suspects or a suspect vehicle.
Shooting follows fatal stabbing last week
Just last week, an 18-year-old died following a stabbing at a Brampton apartment building.

Cops said the man was stabbed after an altercation broke out in the lobby of an apartment complex Thursday on McMurchy Ave., near Pagebrook Crt., around 10 p.m.
Police and paramedics responded to the area and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This was isolated and as a result of an altercation. We don’t know yet what the motive was,” Const. Tyler Bell-Morena told reporters on Friday morning.

Bell-Morena also said the stabbing appears to have been targeted.
One tenant, who asked to speak under the condition of anonymity, described what they heard at the time of the assault.
“I was eating dinner last night and heard somebody yelling ‘help’ from the hallway,” said the tenant. “I opened (my) door and saw some people running. I didn’t see any faces or nothing.
“It was kind of scary what happened. There was a blood-curdling scream for help. It was terrifying.
“Then I saw a knife on the (carpet) and I shut the door. There was blood all over the hallway.”
