In a recent court filing, Reid alleges that the former U.S. Olympic swimmer used drugs in front their young children and also drove them while intoxicated, according to a report from US Weekly.

Kayla Reid Lochte’s filing, which was obtained by the outlet earlier this week, has since been temporarily sealed from the public per Ryan’s attorney’s request to the court.

Reid, 34, is fighting to gain full custody of the couple’s three children — son Caiden Zane, 8, and daughters Liv Rae, 6, and Georgia June, 2 — through the courts.

“Shared parental responsibility would be detrimental to the children because (Ryan) has a history of substance abuse and, upon information and belief, he is still abusing illegal controlled substances,” she wrote in the court filing, according to US Weekly.

The documents alleged that Reid had found “mostly empty baggies of cocaine around the marital home as (Lochte) had consumed the majority of the contents before the baggies were discovered.”

Among areas that these baggies were allegedly found include one of the children’s bedrooms, on their bathroom counter and under the family’s dining room table.

Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medallist, also is accused by Reid of sometimes being “passed out in the driver’s seat (of his car), with the car still on and the music blaring” after driving the kids to school.

“(Lochte) has also fallen asleep while being the only adult watching the children because (Reid) was working out of town,” the court docs allege.

Perhaps the most damning allegation in the documents was that Reid claims to have found Lochte “inhaling nitrous oxide in front of” one of their children while they “were in the garage with him” and said he allegedly had “driven the children to school while intoxicated.”

When contacted about the allegations by the outlet, Lochte admitted to previously struggling with substance abuse, but denied using them around the children.

“As I acknowledged earlier this week, after my car accident in 2023, I fell into a cycle of depression that led to substance abuse,” Ryan said. “I am not denying that I used drugs in my home, but I adamantly deny ever using drugs in front of or around my children, and I have never driven them while intoxicated.

“At times, I would rest in my truck instead of going inside — not because I was impaired, but because the home environment had become overwhelming and very toxic, and I needed a moment to collect myself before walking in.”

Lochte also said that he had hoped to keep the divorce proceedings private to protect the children from “fabricated allegations that could hurt them.”

While Reid filed for the divorce on March 26, the couple announced the split in June on their social media accounts.

Reid, a former Playboy model, described ending the marriage as “one of the most painful” decisions of her life.

The couple also reportedly is deeply in debt. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the estranged couple owes more than $369,000 to a variety of creditors, including the IRS.

The Daily Mail reported that Lochte and Reid have an unpaid balance of $136,000 to the Internal Revenue Service from the years 2021 and 2022.

According to court documents obtained by Us Magazine, the former Playboy model previously demanded exclusive use of the marital home that she and Lochte own in Terrace, Fla.

“(Kayla) needs the exclusive use of this home and the contents thereof both now and in the future for herself and the minor children,” the filing reads.
