The unruly raccoon smashed bottles, a ceiling tile collapsed and alcohol was pooled on the floor. Talk about a wild party.
On Saturday morning, an employee at the store found the trash panda passed out on the bathroom floor following the debauchery.
“I personally like raccoons,” Samantha Martin, an officer who works at the local animal control, told The Associated Press. “They are funny little critters. He fell through one of the ceiling tiles and went on a full-blown rampage, drinking everything.”

Martin said she returned the raccoon to the animal shelter and had a few laughs along the way.

“Another day in the life of an animal control officer, I guess,” she said.
The Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter praised Martin for handling the break-in and confirmed the raccoon had sobered up.
“After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (other than maybe a hangover and poor life choices), he was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer,” the agency said.
It’s not the first raccoon to land in some booze-related trouble.
A Kentucky nurse arrived to work at the Letcher County Health Department in Whitesburg when she and her co-workers noticed a panicked raccoon in the parking lot, WLEX reported.

Combs said they heard a commotion in a nearby dumpster and realized that the raccoon was attempting to rescue two of her pups that were trapped inside of it.
Combs’ workplace is located next to a distillery and she believed that the babies had consumed fermented peaches that were in the dumpster.
That’s when she knew she had to help the frantic raccoon reunite her babies.
“I was like, ‘We have to get them out!’ It was the motherly instinct in me because I saw that momma and she was trying so hard to get her babies back and she didn’t know what to do,” Combs recounted to the outlet.
The nurse wound up saving a baby raccoon.
