Bunnie XO initially cheered her hubby’s appearance, saying on Instagram: “Look at that freaking jawline — we wanna see that jawline, right, ladies? … I have never seen this man without his facial hair. Not one freaking time.”

But in a recent episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, the Grammy-nominated artist’s wife joked about her partner’s “weird” makeover.
“He hasn’t shaved his face in 20 years,” she said.
“This entire time I thought my husband had the biggest head. After he shaved, he’s got a little peanut head. It looks like Beetlejuice. That thing on Beetlejuice where the head is small and the body is big,” she said. “I told him that today. I said, ‘Baby … you got a peanut head, dude.’”

Bunnie XO said the Son of a Sinner hitmaker decided to shave after getting leaner.
“He wanted to do it because he’s finally lost all that weight. So he doesn’t know what he looks like underneath there,” she said.
“Now the way it turned out is a completely different story,” she quipped. “But ya live and ya learn … I don’t even want him to grow the goatee back. I want him to keep the mullet and do the fricking weird cop mustache that he had. Oh my God, it was so hot … It looks so good, I’m like, ‘Baby, leave that.’”
Weight-loss journey motivated by love
After tipping the scales at over 500 pounds, the three-time CMT Music Award winner – whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord – was open about wanting to lose weight and get healthier.

“If you’re really battling obesity, you got to start at the dinner table, man. The walking’s great, all the other stuff’s great, but you got to fight that addiction at the dinner table,” he told Fox News at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards in May.
In a separate chat with PEOPLE, the Church singer said he has completely overhauled what happened behind the scenes when he tours.
“There was once a time in life that the culture I built on tour was the opposite,” he said. “It revolved around alcohol and drugs. And now our tour culture is around good eating and around exercising and doing emotional check-ins with our crew every day.”

He also said he wanted to drop down to 250 pounds so he could go skydiving with his wife.
Last year, the singer-songwriter completed his first-ever race when he ran the 2 Bears 5K in Los Angeles.

“I couldn’t walk a mile when I started trying to do this back in January,” Jelly Roll told Entertainment Tonight after crossing the finish line in the untimed race.
He revealed earlier this year that he was training to run in his second 5K, and took to TikTok to invite fans to join the “Jelly Roll’s Losers Run Club.”
Jelly Roll also revealed how he has been able to enjoy some of his favourite meals while continuing to lose weight with the help of his nutrition coach, Ian Larios.
“I only eat two meals a day and one snack,” as Larios showed how he makes healthier versions of the meals Jelly Roll loves on Instagram.
“It all started because I love Waffle House,” Jelly Roll said. “Larios figured out a way to not only make ‘em taste good but good for my tummy.”

Last December, Jelly Roll said he wants to lose the weight “in front of everybody” and be proud of the accomplishment.
“I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March of 2026,” he told his wife. “That’s my new goal. So I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.”
Wife lashes out at critics
But Bunnie XO lashed out at people commenting about her hubby’s changing looks when she read aloud some of the critiques on TikTok back in September.
“‘Girl your man is so hot now that he lost all that weight,’” she said, reading one comment. “Is he… Cause he’s always had the same face. He’s always had the same heart. He’s always had the same soul.”
She went on to suggest that her followers that they go beneath the surface in their search for true love.

“I think the most appropriate thing here to say is that he looks so much more healthier now that he has lost weight,” she said. “We’ve gotta stop living in a Shallow Hal world, guys, cause you know what? You might miss out on the best love of your life by judging somebody by their weight.”
She captioned her post: “He’s been that dude forever. I’ll forever be cheering him on no matter what weight he is.”
